Jarfumigation was built from the ground up with one clear purpose — to support farmers and rural communities with reliable grain storage and fumigation solutions when they need it most.

Founded by Andrew Schwager and based in Burren Junction in north-west NSW, the business is deeply rooted in agriculture. Andrew was born and raised near Wee Waa on a mixed cropping farm, where his connection to farming and the land began at an early age. Growing up in a tight-knit rural community shaped his values — hard work, trust, and looking after your neighbours.

After school, Andrew spent time working across a range of industries, from personal training in Sydney to hands-on roles in manufacturing and farming. But it wasn’t long before the pull of the land brought him back home, where he worked as a farm hand and became immersed in the realities of modern agriculture.

In 2016, Andrew joined GrainCorp during a bumper harvest season — an experience that proved to be a turning point. It was here he was introduced to large-scale grain handling, storage logistics, and grain protection. Under the guidance of experienced mentors, he developed a strong understanding of fumigation, bunker storage, and the importance of protecting grain quality.

Over the following years, Andrew worked across multiple regions in Australia as a pest control officer, gaining hands-on experience in everything from tarp sealing and bunker management to solving complex storage challenges in a wide range of conditions.

The idea for Jarfumigation came during the devastating 2018 drought. Seeing firsthand the impact it had on farmers and communities, Andrew recognised the growing need for reliable, long-term grain storage solutions — not just in good seasons, but in the toughest ones. He saw an opportunity to provide a service that could help protect farmers’ livelihoods and strengthen local economies.

After further experience across Australia and New Zealand — learning about different climates, commodities, and storage systems — Andrew returned home with a clear vision.

Jarfumigation was established to deliver practical, dependable, and high-quality grain storage and fumigation services, backed by real industry experience.

Today, the business continues to operate with the same values it was built on — hard work, honesty, and a genuine commitment to helping farmers get the most out of their grain.
